Kindergarten Readiness

Program

Rensselaer Central Schools Corporation recognizes the importance of early education and developing the needed skills to be successful in the classroom.  With this in mind we will be launching a new program within our current educational framework.

Starting in the Fall of 2011 we will begin a 2 year Kindergarten Readiness program targeting 4 year olds.  We will identify 30-36 students to fill 2 classrooms.  The program will concentrate on developing skills that are needed to establish a strong learning foundation.  In class, the children will be learning skills to enable them to successfully transition into Kindergarten the next year.

The program will be free to those that qualify.  It will be a full-day program with transportation provided.  Students in this program will have the opportunity to eat breakfast and lunch at the school.  Any child that turns 5 years old between August 1st and September 1st could qualify and any student who turns 4 years old before August 1st will qualify.  All students will be given an assessment to determine qualification.
